Experience
I believe that all students are capable of learning, as long as they have a teacher willing to help them. Not all students learn in the same way. Many struggle to retain information provided in a typical school setting. These students require outside-of-the-box thinking and creative activities to help them remember the information being taught and to keep them interested in learning more. As a tutor, I make it my goal to figure out which methods work best for each student. My alma mater is Marquette University. While there, I received a bachelor's degree in Education. I am capable of teaching 1st through 9th grades. I took extra classes that allowed me to specialize in teaching Math, one of my favorite subjects. I spent one year teaching middle school, and almost two years teaching 3rd grade. I then spent 12 years raising a family. I now tutor students and act as a substitute teacher for the Wauwatosa School District. I offer tutoring in a variety of Math subjects, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Arithmetic. I teach Elementary Math to younger students and Middle School Math to adolescents. I also offer help with Test Prep and Study Skills. I enjoy Reading, and I provide tutoring in this as well. I also teach English, Literature, and Phonics.
